Tree of Fossil Life is a biologically accurate "phylogenetic tree" showing the evolutionary relationships among animals used as mascots for fossil fuel companies. These animals served as logos or brands for oil and gas companies over the past hundred and fifty years. A gradual but relentless discontinuation of the use of animals as fossil fuel mascots has occurred alongside Earth's sixth mass extinction, which we are now experiencing largely as a result of the fossil fuel economy.
